Begin in Hargeisa with a full city experience, discovering the Hargeisa War Memorial, Independence Monument, Central Market, local streets and everyday cultural life.
The following morning, experience a cheetah conservation visit around the morning feeding period before returning to Hargeisa for a traditional Somali lunch and continuing to Laas Geel.
At Laas Geel, step into one of the Horn of Africa's most remarkable archaeological landscapes. Explore ancient rock shelters decorated with colourful prehistoric paintings, including distinctive representations of cattle and human figures. Your local guide will explain the cultural and archaeological significance of the site while you explore the surrounding granite landscape.
Continue towards Berbera through changing landscapes of rocky hills, rural settlements, pastoral country and the coastal plain. In Berbera, discover the city's historic character, traditional fishing life, local seafood culture and the Gulf of Aden coastline.
The journey then moves inland and upward through Sheikh and Burco before reaching Erigavo and the dramatic northern highlands. Here, experience the Daallo Mountains on foot through a guided mountain adventure of approximately 5–6 hours, depending on the route, weather, terrain and group pace.
After the mountain experience, return towards Berbera through the changing landscapes of northern Somaliland for a final full coastal experience. Explore historic Berbera, visit the traditional fishing harbour and fish market, relax at Batalaale Beach and, if conditions permit, enjoy an optional boat trip along the coast.
